From her foster mom: Angel has got to be the reason so many put their blood, sweat and tears into rescue. She is just the sweetest, sweetest, smelliest (in a good way) pup I've ever met. Her big, chunky head is just perfect for kisses and her demeanor is simply extraordinary.

When I first met her, she was quite pink from her skin condition, obviously a little itchy. Still, whereas other pups may have been consumed in their discomfort, her tail didn't just wag, it literally circled as she walked out of the shelter she was so excited to meet everyone. I watched staff members and volunteers at the CACC stop the vet tech she was with, crouch down and give her hugs and kisses as she left - e-collar and all! With so many animals going through the shelter, I knew I had to have a special girl because so many people were sad (but happy) to see her go.

I brought Angel home with me and introduced her to my 10 month old, female pittie Gertrude by taking them on a walk together to solidify the pack mentality. Barely a hackle was raised and soon they were frolicking all over my apartment playing and wagging their tales. After a little more than a week, they've become great friends, doing sits and sleeps together.

I can confirm that Angel is perfectly housetrained - the moment she gets outside she knows the drill! She loves to chew on her toys when in her crate before she goes to sleep at night, but is never destructive toward anything in the house. Besides being good with dogs, she also does well with my 3 cats. While she shows interest in them, it's nothing a little warning from the feline (or the human) doesn't dissuade.

She loves to go for walks and we're working on leash manners (she pulls when she gets a scent!), but as you can see from the couch picture - a walk in Central Park was all it took to send her to bed early!

In any event, I cannot rave more about this dog. She deserves the best forever home - one where she can snuggle up with her family and be pampered like she's supposed to be! In the interim, I'm doing my best to spoil her! :)

Original post: Someone brought Angel to the Shelter explaining he found her as a stray. From the pink color of her skin, we know she's uncomfortable. She has a non-contagious skin condition that makes her itch and itch. (Dogs who have predominantly white coats often are subject to skin conditions). But that doesn't dampen her sweetness and good nature. This four year old gal can sit on command and is quite friendly. She's fine around other dogs, and appears to be housetrained and we think she would be fine with kids 10 yrs+. With medication and good diet, Angel should look beautiful again. But her soul is beautiful - she got a "NO CONCERN" on her behavior test and that's what counts the most. She weighs 48 pounds.

If you can COMMIT to ADOPTING/FOSTERING ANGEL, we will pull her off the EUTH LIST but SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY... PLS RESPOND back to this post or call #917-543-6193 ASAP and leave your call back#s - *ONLY THOSE THAT LEAVE CALLBACK#s will be contacted*

*This dog is located in the NYC Metropolitan Area - transport can be arranged provided certain criteria is met*
